KICKS AND KINIS x TOBI: Haute in the Hamptons
Is it me or are things getting haute in here? If someone would’ve told me five years ago I would be a blogger writing about kicks and kinis I wouldn’t believe them. I really wouldn’t believe that person if they told me I was collaborating with one of my all time favorite stores, Tobi! I remember fangirling over their clothing since high school and loving the fact that their clothing is totally affordable.
I mean can you blame me? Boutiques in Miami can be pretty pricey and Tobi has everything I could possibly want. Whether it’s something trendy, timeless, boho, or grungy they always seems to have just the thing I need! Although, I’ve shopped from these babes plenty of times I never tried one of their kinis. Crazy right? Considering I own so many and frequently visit their site. I really regret not checking out their suits sooner because I am in love!
I received a small only one black top & black string bikini bottom and it fit me perfectly. I’m obsessed with the halter top’s hot (or should I say haute) details. The two strings that cross over from the scoop neck adds the perfect touch of flare to take this little black kini to the next level! It brings attention to your chest in a flattering playful way. The only one black top ties at the neck and back like a traditional bikini top.
The coverage of these bottoms are fuller than I usually rock but were just what I needed for this Hamptons family getaway. I was still able to show off some cheek without having my entire booty on display. If you’re looking for moderate coverage that is family friendly or just prefer fuller coverage, you should definitely shop these bottoms!
I was hesitant to order a small due to the fact that my size varies dependent on the brand or style of the kini. When kinis aren’t fully adjustable I consider it to be a gamble. At times I order online confidently and it fits me the way it’s supposed to and other times I strike out. This time I struck gold and listened to my gut about sizing up to a small! I cannot stress how much I dislike bottoms that do not tie or aren’t seamless. You can imagine my surprise when the small bottom fit me like a glove and I actually felt super hot in them! The thin string detail complimented the top’s two strings flawlessly.
I’m going to give you babes a life hack. You can never go wrong with a black bikini. Let me explain why real quick. One, they’re timeless, black doesn’t go out of style so you can wear it until it gives out! Two, they will always look far more expensive in comparison to other print colors or patterns. Having said that…this set from Tobi is only $26 with the promo code I attached at the bottom of this post. This means you can treat yoself guilt free! Can you believe this set I wore in the Hamptons is less than $30?!
The babes at Tobi were kind enough to send me one of their gorgeous dresses too. Unfortunately, I can’t always be in my kicks and kinis. I totally channeled my inner salsa dancing emoji while wearing Tobi’s saucin’ on you wrap dress! Summers in Miami are hot af with temperatures in the high 90s, which is why I opted for a breezy light mid thigh dress. It is even more beautiful and honestly higher quality than I anticipated! The dress’ material is extremely soft and hangs on your curves flawlessly. If you know me, you know I’m a huge fan of plunging dresses and tops. Also, ruffles have slowly crept their way into my closet and I hope the trend remains because I love it. So you can imagine how ecstatic I was to receive the saucin’ on you wrap dress! Ruffled plunging neckline and hemline = happy Paulina
Thankfully, I was able to evacuate Miami before Hurricane Irma came. The Hamptons definitely isn’t a bad hideaway! I spent the beginning of the trip stressed out and worried about my family and friends who decided to stay. I wasn’t even thinking straight when I packed lightly, not knowing how long I would be in Sag Harbor for or what to expect this time of year in terms of weather. I’m not sure what made me grab Tobi’s saucin’ on you red dress from my closet but I’m glad I did. It’s a cool 70 degrees during the day and this dress was just what I needed. The sun was shinning and I had the opportunity to pull over amidst running errands to visit the lovely Seven Ponds Orchard.
Tobi’s saucin’ on you red dress was popping despite being in a sea of red apples. This was my first time picking apples (I’ve only picked strawberries in Homestead). I was amazed at all the different kinds of apples and the various shades of red each one achieved.
I paired this look with my Nike Air Max 90 kicks and couldn’t have been any happier. I previously wore the dress with slides and it was a total Miami #ootd. However, in the Hamptons I decided to go for a different look. Not only was I more comfortable in my kicks but I had a chic meets street vibe, which is definitely my kind of outfit!
It was actually SagHarbor Fest while I was here this time around! You can peep the whale out in the water behind me. I adore this town! I usually come at the beginning of August (since 2012); this was the first time that I returned so late into the Summer. Everyone around here seems to take the whole no white after Labor Day seriously. Being from Miami, I always wear white no matter the time of year.
However, the saucin’ on you dress is the perfect dress to transition from Summer to Fall! As I previously mentioned, during the day the sun was out so I was pretty warm but at night I wore a cute denim jacket. If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere where the seasons actually change this is a great investment! You can wear it all Summer long and lightly layer it until Fall is in full swing.
And haven’t you heard? Red is the color of Fall 2017! I am so for it too. Other than constantly filling my closet with white and blue hues, red is my favorite bold color to wear. It demands attention and you’ll always stand out of the crowd. Just think of the salsa dancing emoji, she’s a total babe who is feeling herself.
Remember how I told you the Tobi kini set is under $30 with a promo code? You babes have until September 13th at midnight to save 50% off site wide by adding promo code CH50 at checkout.
