Briland, Bahamas – Harbour Island

Briland holds a special place in my heart. When I was little my parents would take me to the Bahamas and I remember thinking this is paradise. I even told my dad (at the age of five) that my wedding destination was going to be the place with the pink sand. I have always loved the beach and pink is my favorite color so Briland was heaven on Earth for me.

You can imagine my excitement when I found out that my boyfriend’s family was planning a trip to my beloved Bahamian island. I was counting down the days and day dreaming about the soft pink sand. I could barely focus at work the days leading up to the trip! The crystal blue waters were all I could think about. I couldn’t wait to spend my entire day at the beach soaking it all in.

We stayed at the cute and colorful Valentine’s Resort & Marina. It was amazing to roll out of bed and walk out onto the balcony to view all the boats docked at the marina. You could see the Bahamian waters glistening and palm trees blowing in the wind.

As soon as we checked in I quickly changed into my Karma Bikini set and headed out to the beach. After a quick golf cart ride and walk down a rocky trail there it was, Pink Sands Beach. The pink sand was even more gorgeous than I remembered. I found myself in a cotton candy daze staring at the blue skies and pink sand. I felt amazed and blissful watching the waves wash up at my feet.

I wasn’t planning on actually going into the water (I forgot my towel) but couldn’t resist. I was in disbelief that I was going to spend a week here. I wanted to enjoy every single second of it. Living in the moment was the goal of my vacay. I successfully did by the way! It was great to not feel stressed out and actually enjoy the day.

The beach’s shore is incredibly long! I love beaches that have a lot of sand and area for you to walk around. Strolling alongside the shoreline and feeling the water cover your feet is one of my favorite things. I could seriously walk up and down Pink Sands all day.

I didn’t wear kicks to the beach but I did accessorize with my We Are Andrex anklet! I’m freaking obsessed with the moon charm. I wore it all day in the water with the waves knocking me down constantly and it stayed on. I was shocked and so happy I didn’t lose it to the sea. After swimming around, I picked up a bodyboard and started to catch the waves. I was waiting in the water for the perfect strong wave that would push me all the way onto the shore. I ecstatically raced against my boyfriend to see who could make it further. I felt like a little kid again laughing and running back into the sea.

This is one of the walkways we took to the beach. We drove the golf cart to Pink Sands Resort and spent our days hanging out. The only worry I had during my vacation was if I applied enough sunblock. Seriously, I would get out of the water dry off and reapply. I have such fair skin and like to protect it from the sun’s harmful rays. It’s very important that you babes take care of your skin too!

Celebrating July 4th in the Bahamas was actually so fun! You’d think that they wouldn’t make it a big deal because it’s not a Bahamian holiday but on the contrary, it was amazing. They did a fireworks show and had a BBQ cook out on the beach. Unfortunately, I either ate something that was touched by shellfish or the sun was getting to me and I broke out in hives. So my beach day ended short but I did get to enjoy the night life.

We went out to eat at the most beautiful restaurants on the island! One of them being the Dunmore (pictured above). This is part of their outdoor patio set up. I could see the beach from our table and witnessed a gorgeous sunset. The clouds turned orangey-pink and reflected lovely on the pink sand. It was as if they were dancing on the shore. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at Pink Sands Resort. The atmosphere was calming and set up was impeccable. I highly recommend both these places if you visit Briland!

Put your hands in the air if you’re ready to fly to Harbour Island! Even though I was just there at the beginning of the month I am ready to go back. So if you’re thinking about going, go and hide me in your luggage. In all seriousness, I don’t think anyone could have a bad time on the island.

I’m beyond grateful to visit Briland with my boyfriend, John, and his family! We had such a wonderful time and I’m so happy that I get to experience it all with them. Ready to take on NYC and the Hamptons in August with the fam jam!

I hope you babes enjoyed my recap of Briland and keep an eye out for my post on Nassau!
