Tricks for Treats

Who said bikinis are only for the beach? I came up with these easy tricks on how to save money by transforming your bikinis into Halloween costumes. Can you believe that I spent less than $15 (on accessories) to turn my swimwear into four ghoul-some costumes?! Continue reading to view pictures and see the details behind the costumes. I’ve linked the exact (or similar) products of what I own/purchased to achieve my looks. I hope you enjoy this treat!

Pirate Costume

What you’ll need:

I absolutely loved how my pirate costume came out! I felt comfortable, confident, and sexy. This one piece is a perfect substitute for a basic black body suit. Costume stores sell black body suits at incredibly high prices. Why pay for extra for something you’re only going to wear once? This American Apparel one piece will last you all Summer long! Lets talk accessories, I already owned the black boots from last year’s catwoman costume and the scarf I purchased years ago while on a trip in NYC. I also found a pair of fishnet stockings in my sock drawer (winning). Therefore, the only items I needed to purchase were the pirate patch and hook.
Total cost of accessories: $6!

Devil Costume

What you’ll need:

The devil wears Siempre Golden. Turn heads in this hot Halloween costume! I purchased this sexy one piece at the very beginning of Summer. I was obsessed with the retro feel and color of the suit. Instead of being a basic lifeguard I decided to channel my evil side. I paired the one piece with my black Aldo heels and accessories from Party City. I was ecstatic to discover that they make clip on devil horns. It was a comfortable and subtle touch in comparison to the typical headband style with horns.
Total cost of accessories: $8

Military Cadet Costume

What you’ll need:

Who wouldn’t feel like a total bad ass in this costume? This was the second cheapest costume for me to piece together. I purchased both the green utility jacket and Steve Madden troopa combat boots back in 2012 from T.J. Maxx. I found these camo printed jeans in the back of my closet from Old Navy. Last but not least, the big sur top was a gift from one of my besties!
Total cost of accessories: 50 cents (for the whistle)!

Angel Costume

What you’ll need:

Sweet not only refers to the angelic costume but the fact that this costume did not cost me a penny. In June, I was Siempre Golden’s ambassador of the month and decided to treat myself to this beautiful (reversible) one piece. I am so glad that I did because it looks amazing and fits great! Two years ago I was Tinker Bell for Halloween and purchased these angel wings. The wings actually came as a set with a halo. Making this angel costume’s total cost of accessories $0!
