The Babe Behind the Blog
I’m Paulina Fonseca, the kicks and kinis obsessed blogger. You might be asking yourself why kicks and kinis? Living in sunny Miami, FL my entire life, bikinis naturally became a staple in my closet. However, I kept facing difficulties in finding bikinis that fit my needs. Whether it was the sizing, fit, or price of the kini I felt helpless. This is what led me launch my blog in the Summer of 2016.
I began my research by trying different brands, styles, and understanding the importance of high quality fabric. It’s safe to say as my bikini collection grew so has my knowledge. I enjoy testing out the latest trending styles, working with local brands, and giving detailed reviews to help you babes feel confident while wearing your #kicksandkinis.
Kicks and Kinis
As a Miami native, I grew up surrounded by palm trees. I was enamored with their natural beauty and how no two palms seemed identical. Some were thin and tall, others stout with beautiful palms reaching towards the sky, and some with curved trunks. Despite the differences in appearance, each was growing and thriving in their own way.
When it came time to design kicks and kinis’ logo, I thought long and hard about something that would draw attention but still remain authentic to myself and describe what I strive to achieve with my platform. A palm tree! Of course, tropical and not overstated. I began drawing it out in my journal, attempting to figure out placement within ‘kicks and kinis’. After numerous tries and a few glasses of wine, my handwriting became less desirable and thus a slanted k was born. From there stemmed the palm tree and I knew it represented me. Standing tall and confident despite being imperfect.
On a superficial level, my blog is about swimwear and shoes but in reality, it is so much more than that. I write from the heart with full transparency on the woes of finding the perfect fit because let’s face it – it’s not just a cute bikini we’re after, it’s the feeling of “wow I look and feel amazing in this”! I want each and every babe who comes across my page to experience that emotion and know that their insecurities or imperfections are what make them perfect just like the palm tree.
If you need help finding the perfect kini for your next vacay or just want to say hi feel free to contact me! It always brings a smile to my face knowing my blog impacted someone even in a small way so don’t be shy.
