Karma Bikinis: saving the world one kini at a time

Who knew saving the planet could look so sexy? The two sisters behind Karma Bikinis sure did. Inspired by their combined passions for ocean conservation and the need for unique, adjustable, fair trade pieces came our swimwear line with a commitment to donate 7% of all proceeds to ocean conservation efforts.

I know most of you merbabes are familiar with Karma Bikinis because I rave about them all the time! But for those who don’t, I am actually a humbled and grateful to be a guest blogger for them! I am highly impressed by their company. They are so empowering, socially aware, and willing to go above and beyond for their customers.

Karma Bikinis swimwear pieces are ethically made in a limited production cycle. Meaning, they create a small batch of each product in each print or color, once the style sells out there is no second order made. Instead we release new styles every 6 weeks and carry exclusive pieces/prints for our members. So the likelihood of you running into another merbabe on the beach with your suit is low. #winning

The floral mandala set is part of Karma Bikinis’ “Desert Goddess” collection. If I could I would get one of each set in this collection because it’s honestly so good! Each piece is different in its own way. For example, the floral mandala set  (which is this month’s BOTM) has a cute sexy feel while Montego set is vibrant and sporty.

I am sooo happy that I chose the floral mandala set to be my first kini from Karma Bikini. I was immediately drawn to the top’s design. I was crushing hard on the floating cuff sleeves! Did you see the side cut outs? So freaking dreamy.

If you’ve been on the look out for a strapless kini for this Summer you should definitely purchase this set! It’s hard to find strapless tops that are comfortable, cute, and affordable. Trust me, I spend way too much time looking kinis up online.

I didn’t have to worry about horrible tan lines in the floral mandala set. I was able to get a nice glow (thanks to my Boracay Skin lotion) and had the perfect tan for my strapless dress I wore that night! Not going to lie, I was a little concerned how my tan would look with the cuffed sleeves that are attached to the top. However, I didn’t have an awkward patch of white as I anticipated. This might have something to do with me lathering my arms with tons of sunblock throughout the day.

The bottoms are adorable as well! A little different than what I normally wear do to its more conservative nature but perfect for my family beach day. Every babe needs a “family friendly” set. Also, if you’re not one that is a fan of itty bitty bottoms this is a great option for you. If you’re looking to show off some of your assets sizing down may be beneficial.

Now that we’re on the topic of sizing, we can discuss how this set fit my petite frame. I sent the Karma Bikinis babes my exact measurements to better determine what size top and bottom to order. I was in a dilemma trying to decide to go for the extra small top or small. I advised to go smaller and happy I did!

Picture

I figured, better to be smaller than bigger. The Karma Bikinis babes were totally right. The small top would’ve slipped right off my body! The back of the top is adjustable on the bottom band but not the upper band. I have a tiny back frame so the extra small stayed on without any issues!

My little noodle arms also fit perfectly into the floating cuffed sleeves! If you’re not sure which size to order feel free to email Karma Bikinis or myself. I love helping all you merbabes find the perfect kini and fit!

As far as the mandala bottoms are concerned, I think I could’ve gotten away with ordering extra small instead of small. So if you’re in between sizes I suggest you size down. Just like the top, these bottoms are made from soft stretchy fabric! They were so comfortable I didn’t want to take them off.

I’ve been working out a lot lately and hopeful that my baby peach will grow to fill out the mandala bottoms even more! Can’t wait to wear this set again for fourth of July.
