Blue Life Swim: Be Mine?
I was that girl in elementary school picking out Valentine’s Day cards way in advance and carefully deciding who gets the cooler cartoon cards. I can’t remember a time that I didn’t love V-Day. Most of my friends roll their eyes at my level of enthusiasm for the romantic holiday but I really just can’t help myself. I get this giddy feeling as February 14 nears. It could be that I enjoy seeing the vast majority of people be extra loving towards one another and being reminded that someone cares for you. I don’t think Valentine’s Day has to be limited to couples, anyone could and should celebrate! Lucky for me though I’ve had the same Valentine for the past 10 years.
For those of you who are still reading (despite my mushy sentiments towards Valentine’s Day), you know I had to have some major fun with this shoot! In addition to loving kicks and kinis I cannot resist a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. I don’t really discriminate, I love all fresh flowers but roses and frangipanis are my absolute favorites! Combine red roses with this killer
Blue Life Swim set and you got February’s BOTM.
I decided to treat myself to
Blue Life’s roped up bikini top and
roped up skimpy bottom. It was love at first sight. I remember seeing a flat lay of this set on
ISHINE365’s Instagram and immediately DMed the pic to my friend for her approval. Because what are friends for? Oddly enough my bikini collection does not have a lot of black. I have my
Siempre Golden big sur top and
bottoms in black. Oh and also my
sola one piece from
Live In Sol. But like I said I just had to have this. The design was so eye catching! I excitedly (and creepily) stalked my mailman for my package. As soon as I tried it on I knew we were a match made in Heaven.
The bikini fit me like a glove and was actually so comfortable. The top is nonadjustable so you need to make sure that you order the correct size (but more on that later).
Blue Life’s roped up tri topshows the perfect amount of cleavage and has a unique back design. The thick straps stop right beneath the shoulder blade to make a triangle shape out of ropes (hence its name). The details of this suit are honestly amazing! I love the gold clasp that holds bikini’s band together.
The
bottoms are equally fantastic. The rope sides compliment the tri top’s design perfectly. The bikini looks matching without trying so hard. By solely looking at the front view you don’t note that the bikini top also has rope details. How cute is that? I know some of you merbabes are thinking thin strap bottoms usually dig into your hip and leave unflattering marks. But this is definitely not the case for these
roped up skimpy bottoms! To my surprise the straps actually stretch (a whole lot more than I anticipated). They rested on my hips perfectly fine without causing any discomfort. These bottoms also provide the perfect amount of cheekiness! They’re not as teeny tiny as a thong styled bottom but are cheekier than moderate bottoms.
The cut of the bottoms definitely flatter your peachy assets! I can’t wait to try this suit out in the water to see how they hold up. If dancing around the beach is any indication I’m sure they can keep up with me.
Let’s talk sizing.
Remember how I previously mentioned you need to know your size in order to rock this suit because it’s not adjustable? I didn’t have any reviews to go off of to select my size and size charts are rarely accurate when it comes down to fit. All I had to rely on was the models stats and how she looked in the set. Comparably, I was roughly here measurements (other than height) but I still had a weird gut feeling telling me to size down on the top just because of its style. So I did. And thank God I did or else it would’ve been HUGE on me. Granted, I’m not that busty but the band wouldn’t have fit my petite frame at all. If you’re a 32″ band A/B definitely get the xs. A small C may be able to get away with the xs just dependent on your preference of coverage (as you may have some major side boob action). The bottoms I listened to the model stats…It said she was a 23″ waist wearing a small. I’m a 24/25 dependent on the fit and I was like okay for sure I’m a small too. Due to the nature of the stretchy rope side bottoms I could’ve probably fit in an xs bottom as well. For now the small seems fine but I’ll keep you updated after I take these for a test run in the water.
